The following principles are outcomes from my dissertation for an MA in Digital Cultures. Titled Digital Engagement and Data Governance in Nonprofit Advancement: Principles for the Future State, this document identifies four principles that can inform the work of nonprofit fundraising and engagement teams in the digital space.

Principle 3: be data informed, not data driven. Donors are more than data points; every metric represents a constituent’s personal narrative and their philanthropic priorities. Read more.
